Quality

Quality

At Pressalit, quality is about taking responsibility. We take our quality policy very seriously, and take responsibility for delivering products that meet applicable standards for aids. We believe in the importance of creating the best possible conditions for a more accessible life, and the quality of life this brings.

Everything that we do is about making a difference for users and helpers. We never compromise on quality and constantly strive to optimise the quality of our products. We take responsibility for our products, which is clearly evident in our warranty. Our aids come with a minimum of 3 years' warranty - most come with even longer.

Methods of testing

We do not compromise, but test our products to their furthest limits.

At Pressalit we test our products so we can be completely sure that they can withstand even extreme real-life conditions. We push the products to the very limit to identify any weaknesses by subjecting them to rigorous tests. Therefore, we can guarantee the values we provide.

For example, the illustration to the right shows our test method for a support arm. The load which the product can withstand increases the further back on the support arm one tests it. However, we have decided to state the lowest values, which means that the lifespan of the product is even longer in use, as the load is often applied closer to the wall.

All tests have been conducted by mounting the products on a solid wall, which is what Pressalit recommends. The lifespan of the product is not affected in any way by the wall type. However, the overall solution will inevitably be influenced by the condition and material of the wall, so reinforcement should always be used if the wall is not stable.

Dynamic test

We test the products dynamically by subjecting them vertically 10,000 times to a load lasting 2 seconds. The weight specifications on our products state how many kilogrammes the products can withstand at their outermost points using this test method.

Static test

We also conduct a static test on our products, and we therefore know exactly how many kilogrammes each product can carry for 1 minute. The static test is also carried out on the weakest part of each product.

Sideways test

In addition to the above testing methods, we subject our support arms and armrests to a sideways test to find out whether they can withstand being used by, e.g. , a wheelchair user when moving himself. The sideways test involves pressing the product 10,000 times at a 45° angle for 2 seconds at a time.

TÜV

We test our products as part of the development process, but we are also very proud to have obtained a certification from the German test laboratory TÜV SÜD. All our PLUS toilet supports are certified by TÜV in accordance with the ISO 17966 standard.

What is ISO 17966?

This standard describes the requirements and test methods for aids for use in personal hygiene.

What is a TÜV certification?

TÜV SÜD is an accredited test institute that tests all kinds of aids. A TÜV certification is thus an independent third-party methodical review of a product and its associated documentation according to a given standard.
